Freddie qualified as an electrician in Scotland in the early 2000's and worked as a lighting technician and rigging electrician in the film industry in the UK, Germany, Italy and Australia. Whilst in Australia he worked for Fox Lighting as a in house electrician, then joined gaffer Shaun Conway and his main unit team at Conway Film Lighting. His other lighting technician credits include numerous high end commercials around the world and several feature films like The Great Gatsby, Sherlock Holmes, Jack Ryan and Bronson
Ever since his return to London in 2012 Freddie has worked as a Lighting Gaffer for cinematographers such as Danny Cohen BSC, Guillermo Navarro ASC, Manuel Claro DFF and Simon Chaudoir specialising mainly in commercials. He is known locally for his versatile, amicable approach and practical production experience. Foreign production houses can take advantage of his local knowledge and full support of London's main lighting companies.
In 2013 he expanded to lighting for Fashion , Photography and Lighting Design, working as a Lighting consultant for photographers like Nick Knight and Steven Klein and extensively collaborating with Italian Lighting Designer Manolo on his works for Apple, Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane, Hunter and the Björk exhibition at the Museum Of Modern Art in New York.
